The Glen Innes Examiner is a much-loved local source of news first published in 1874, covering issues of interest to the town including our people, council, police, court and the many local sports.
On Thursday a weekly wrap of the main stories lands in the inboxes of our readers signed up to receive our emails. We also offer breaking news emails covering the top stories across the region. Published weekly, the print edition is available through local newsagents.
Glen Innes is a rural town on the Northern Tablelands of NSW, on the junction of the New England and Gwydir highways. The area’s core industries are agriculturally based and include sheep and cattle production. It is also a popular tourist destination due to the local world heritage listed national parks, sapphires, and its proud Celtic history.
Glen Innes calls itself “the Celtic Capital of Australia” and with the Standing Stones as a monument to Celtic pride, it celebrates its history with the popular Celtic Festival each May.
