Stock Journal is South Australia’s leading agricultural masthead, providing vital information for farmers on a range of key topics via its weekly newspaper and website.
The masthead traces its history back to August 1904, when the Adelaide Stock & Station Journal was established to provide reports of the Adelaide and Country livestock markets, plus wool, grain and produce markets. Since then, the newspaper has grown to cover all of South Australia, as well as crossing the border into Alice Springs, the Northern Territory, Broken Hill, NSW, and along the NSW and Victorian borders shared with South Australia.
Stock Journal provides in-depth and relevant news for those in rural SA, with a predominantly agricultural slant, but also considers the larger issues impacting on regional areas, such as access to quality health, education, roads and much more.
It speaks with farmers about their on-farm practices in a manner that can educate and inform, with both livestock production and cropping, while also speaking with researchers about some of the latest innovations.
The masthead has continued its early tradition of market coverage, with several pages each week dedicated to market analysis, while its seedstock knowledge leads the market.
Stock Journal has a team of journalists who are passionate about rural SA and telling the stories of those who live there, which is reflected in our strong readership among our key audience.
