The Maitland Mercury has been part of the Maitland community and Lower Hunter region since 1843. It is one of the oldest regional newspapers on the mainland.
The Mercury’s team, which includes award-winning writers and photographers, has launched itself into the digital space and in 2015 won the coveted Pacific Area Newspapers Association Best News Website award, with online year-on-year growth of more than 102 per cent.
The team also took out all five major categories at the 2015 NSW Country Press Awards, including the prized E C Sommerlad Memorial Award for Journalism.
